Here's how we're keeping you safe at the
Lesher Center for the Arts:
AN IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING OUR ENTRY POLICIES
For the time being, the Lesher Center for the Arts will continue to require proof of full vaccination for ages 12 and up and masks for everyone ages 2 and up regardless of vaccination status. This is consistent with the commitments we have made with our artists, staff, and patrons to ensure their safety. It is also consistent with what we are hearing directly from our community:
• 80% of our Cornerstone Producers want these policies to remain in place at this time.
• These policies are consistent with other Bay Area performing arts organizations and New York’s Broadway theatres, who are maintaining their proof of vaccination and mask policies.
• As of February 26, our ongoing surveying of patrons indicated that 2/3 believe masks are necessary for their comfort in attending events. A segment of our audience is surveyed each month and we will continue to closely watch the survey responses.
• For performing artists, COVID cases within the company can result in closure of the production due to necessary isolation timelines. At a time when many organizations are just beginning to emerge from a very difficult two year period, maintaining these safety measures with our patrons supports the continued smooth operations for our performing arts organizations.
We will continue to evaluate the case rates in Contra Costa County, as well as the expectations of our patrons and artists, in determining how to move forward with our entry requirements. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to seeing you at the theatre.
- To qualify as “fully vaccinated,” an individual must have completed their full course of COVID-19 shot(s) no fewer than 14 days prior to attendance.
- Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination against COVID-19 include a CDC Vaccination Record Card, either an original paper card or a clear and legible digital copy of the card, or a digital State of California COVID-19 Vaccine Record.
- MASKS are required to be worn indoors by all guests age two and over, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must fully cover your mouth and nose.
Unfortunately, guests unable to comply with our vaccination and mask policies will not be admitted.
*Medical and religious exemptions are allowed. In order to be admitted to an event with a medical or religious exemption, a person must also have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours of the event.
AIR QUALITY PROCEDURES (OUTDOORS)
When the AQI is 150 and above, outdoor performances at the Lesher Center for the Arts will be moved indoors, rescheduled or cancelled. Lesher Center for the Arts outdoor performance changes will be decided 4 hours in advance of the start of each performance to give as much notice to ticket holders as possible. Ticket holders will be notified by email or phone. Please contact the Ticket Office with questions by calling (925) 943-7469.
