Matt is in her third season as Artistic Director of Center Repertory Company, where she has directed the revival of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE (“a comedy extravaganza” BroadwayWorld), and the World Premiere of FROGGY (“Groundbreaking” – Bay Area News Group). Prior to joining Center REP, Matt was the Executive Artistic Director of Diversionary Theatre, where she helped to grow the operating budget from $500,000 to over $2 million, while completing a $2.7 renovation of its facility, adding two new performance spaces. Under Matt’s leadership, Diversionary was nominated for 35 San Diego Critics Circle Awards. She was honored with the inaugural Larry T. Baza Arts & Culture Award from San Diego Pride, and was the Creative Catalyst Fellow with The San Diego Foundation and La Jolla Playhouse. She has developed new work with The Sundance Theatre Institute, The Old Globe, The Banff Centre, Center Theatre Group, American Conservatory Theater, Lincoln Center, among others. Matt served as the Associate Artistic Director of City Theatre and The John Wells Professor of Directing at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama, and adjunct at UCSD’s Graduate Directing program.
