This fall, spontaneity, laughter, and connection take center stage at the second annual Diablo Improv Festival (DIF), a three-day celebration of unscripted theater at the Lesher Center for the Arts in downtown Walnut Creek.
Whether you're a seasoned improviser, a comedy fan, or simply improv curious, DIF is an opportunity to see great live improv, try it for yourself, and become part of a welcoming creative community. No experience is necessary. Just a willingness to play!

About the Workshop
Throughout a scene, characters can be high status, low status, or shifting organically between the two. In this workshop, we explore relationship dynamics based on power, control, and vulnerability.

About the Instructor
Karen Twelves has been performing in and around the Bay Area since 2008, most notably with the all-women troupe Chick Flick. She has taught at All Out Comedy and Provocation Theater, through the GoogleArts Theater program, and for private clients. She also teaches the workshop series "Improv for Gamers" at TTRPG conventions across the country, and her accompanying book Improv for Gamers was published in 2018.
