About the speakers:

Phillip Hua explores the intersection of environmental change and economic growth through a distinctive digital-to-analog printmaking practice inspired by Silicon Valley's transformation. Born in San Jose, CA, he earned his BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has completed numerous public art commissions throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. 

Cynthia Ona Innis creates paintings and textile works inspired by California's shifting coastal landscape, using cutting, stitching, and layered materials to explore themes of environmental change, memory, rupture, and repair. Currently based in Berkeley, she received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and her MFA from Rutgers University. Her work is held in major museum collections throughout California, and she has exhibited widely, including her current solo exhibition Seams at the Triton Museum of Art. Innis is the recipient of numerous awards, including a 2025 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and is represented by Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles. 

Joelle Provost is a California-based artist and wildlife advocate whose paintings explore the intersection of environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and humanity's relationship with the natural world. Working exclusively with upcycled canvases and donated materials, she embraces a circular practice that reflects the regenerative principles central to her work. Provost earned her MFA in Art and Integrated Media from Brooklyn College and has exhibited throughout California and nationally. Her work envisions both ecological loss and renewal, encouraging viewers to recognize their role in restoring and protecting the environment.
