The world’s most famous drama, Romeo & Juliet, finds a new sense of whimsy in this unique retelling narrated by a keenly imaginative 12 year old boy. Choreographer, Penny Saunders, draws out every bit of comedy within this timeless tragedy to provide an interactive, family friendly, and awe inspiring experience for all.

For the Saturday performances, Diablo Ballet presents the company premiere of Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations. Originally commissioned for the Joffrey Ballet in 1986, Birthday Variations is one of Gerald Arpino’s most delightful and technically dazzling ballets. Set to a selection of buoyant operatic melodies by Giuseppe Verdi, this neoclassical jewel brims with elegance, charm, and effervescent musicality.
