This fall, spontaneity, laughter, and connection take center stage at the second annual Diablo Improv Festival (DIF), a three-day celebration of unscripted theater at the Lesher Center for the Arts in downtown Walnut Creek.
Whether you're a seasoned improviser, a comedy fan, or simply improv curious, DIF is an opportunity to see great live improv, try it for yourself, and become part of a welcoming creative community. No experience is necessary. Just a willingness to play!

About this Workshop
Have an emotional reaction, make a choice, add your brick to the scene/world you are building. If you build it, they will engage. React intentionally! The audience will hear your words And! they see the tiniest arch of an eyebrow, wrinkle of a forehead. Use this to your advantage, know that they are watching, react intentionally! This will help slow you down and be fully immersed in your character and be fully present with your scene partner. Fully live in the world you have created, fully live as your character in that moment. In this workshop you will learn to react authentically and use the slightly movement facial expression with intention and bring your scene work to a new level!

About the Instructor
Geraldine Carolan has been improvising for 7 years, originally from Galway, Ireland, now lives in San Francisco. She is proud to be a member of the Synergy Theater cast and has performed in full length improvised plays – Law & Order and Dungeons & Dragons. She performs in long form teams, Cats & Dogs, Purple Couch, and Stranger than Facts. She trained at Leela's SF, Endgames and Synergy Theater. She has performed at several festivals including Redrocks Improv Festival, Ireland Fest, and Countdown. When not on stage, you will find her camping with her wonderful husband Owen and son Jude.
