Education & Outreach
Reaching out to families, students and those less fortunate is a priority at The Lesher Center for the Arts. Thanks to the donations of many individuals and corporations, as well as the time and energy of a dedicated group of people, the wonderful artistic programming at the Lesher Center is open and accessible to all individuals.

- Arts Access Student Outreach Through its Arts Access program, the Diablo Regional Arts Association is dedicated to providing underserved populations the opportunity to experience the arts. Each year with the assistance of our valued donors and sponsors, DRAA works with local schools to provide services including tickets and transportation to high-quality, professional performances and exhibits at the Lesher Center. No other institution on Contra Costa County, perhaps even the Bay Area, provides services of this kind on such an inclusive and sustained basis.
- Chevron Family Theatre Festival: This annual event brings the community together for a day of affordable, high-quality theatre. The Lesher Center is filled with entertainment and family activities in the theatres, lobbies, and surrounding outside areas.
- Young REPertory Theatre Workshop: The Young REPertory Theatre Workshop, now in its 39th year, continues to train and develop students interested in the theatre arts as a vocation or a serious avocation.
- Bedford Gallery School Tours: The Bedford Gallery, located in the Lesher Center, offers school tours throughout the week. These popular tours allow students to get a close-up and sometimes hands-on look at the Bedford Gallery’s exciting exhibits.
